ARTIFACT: This is an early American Airlines flat-style hat badge accompanied by a band embroidered in gold bullion.

VINTAGE: Circa mid-1930s.

SIZE: Band: approximately 1-7/16" width and 12-1/2" length (as pictured); badge: approximately 1-3/16" in height and 1-1/4" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Band: cotton, elastic, muslin backing, bullion threads; badge: gold-filled.

ATTACHMENT: Badge: single screw post with disc backing and one stabilization post.

MARKINGS: Badge: Wright & Street maker's mark and 1/10 10K GF.

CONDITION: 7+ (Very Fine+): Strap shows some light to medium wear and tarnish on bullion - stitching has started to come apart at seam; badge shows light to medium wear and tarnish.
