Description

ARTIFACT:

This is a Japanese-made novelty patch for the United States Navy Destroyer Group 15 Missile Division. The patch is turquoise and shows a hooded skeleton with a serpent tongue holding a horrifying array of weapons.

VINTAGE:

Circa late 1960s.

SIZE:

6-3/8" height and 5-1/8" width.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Fully-embroidered in cotton/silk/polyester threads and muslin backing.

CONDITION:

8 (Excellent): Patch shows little wear and has some small spots of discoloration on reverse.
