The tool opens to reveal a selection of symbol and phrase magnets on one half and a blank magnetic board on the other. The blank side has an easel backing and would be separated from the other half and used as a backdrop for appropriate symbols and phrases to communicate messages and conditions between the salesmen. The magnets all have a place over their corresponding black and white image on the left side of the tool. The tool also comes with June 1948 "The Otis Bulletin" magazine, along with three copies of the photograph on its front cover, and an Otis measurement conversion tables booklet.

VINTAGE: Circa late 1940s.

SIZE: Display: approximately 15-1/2" in height and 11-1/4"in width and 1-1/2" in thickness (when closed); magazine (19 pages) and conversion tables book (44 pages).

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Magnetic board, cardboard, paper, oaktag.

ATTACHMENT: Magnetic display tool: snaps on straps (one is intact and three are separated), easel flap on back; magazine: stapled binding; conversion tables booklet: plastic comb binding.

MARKINGS: Magazine: June 1948 Printed in U.S.A.; conversion tables booklet: Copyright 1947 by Otis Elevator Company (on front page); Plastic Binding U.S. Pat. No. 1970285, Brewer-Cantelmo Co., Inc., New York E-1601 (4-47) Printed in U.S.A. Otis Elevator Company Press (on last page).
