This is a circa late 1930s German National Youth Sports Badge, or Reichsjugendsportabzeichen (RJA). 1925 was the first year of the award, and at that time it was presented to male youths eighteen or under. Three years later it was also given to females. Previous to 1937, there was no swastika on the badge, and the badge went out of use in 1942.
VINTAGE:Circa late 1930s.
SIZE:Approximately 5/8" in diameter.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Silver-washed.
ATTACHMENT:Horizontal safety-style pin with saddle.
MARKINGS:WERNSTEIN JENA.
