Description
This is a beautiful circa late 1930s badge for the English Speaking Union (ESU), established in 1918 by Irish journalist Sir Evelyn Wrench. The United States branch was founded two years later. An international charitable education organization, the ESU still exists today. The badge is shaped like a compass and detailed in red, white and blue enamel.
VINTAGE:Circa late 1930s.
SIZE:Approximately 1-1/4" in diameter.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Gilt brass, enamel.
ATTACHMENT:Horizontal pin with come-under locking swivel catch.
