Description
This is a large United States 728th Bomb Squadron, 452nd Bomb Group, 8th Air Force patch from World War II. The 728th was part of the Normandy offensive and flew B-17 aircraft. The lightweight patch has lovely, earthy colors and is silk-screened on leather. It shows a flying elephant about to drop a missile from his furled trunk.
VINTAGE:Circa early World War II.
SIZE:Approximately 5-9/16" in height x 6-1/8" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Silk-screened leather.
ATTACHMENT:To be sewn onto Flight Clothing.

CONDITION:8- (Very Fine-Excellent): The patch shows some light wear and minor creasing near the b0ttom right section.
