ARTIFACT: This is a wonderful, large 1930s belt buckle for the Civilian Conservation Corps Company 1705. The National Defense Act of 1920 created the CMTC so that male citizens could receive military training without signing up for the service. The CMTC held classes (camps) each summer from 1921 through 1940. The buckle is made by an unknown belt company from Greensboro, North Carolina.

VINTAGE: Circa 1930s.

SIZE: Approximately 2-3/16" in height and 2-15/16" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Nickel-plated brass.

ATTACHMENT: Clip, loop with spoke for belt hole.

MARKINGS: (?-)LIN BELT CO. GREENSBORO, N.C.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a Civilian Conservation Corps collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. VEJX11 LBDEX3/12 SBDEX4/14

CONDITION: 8- (Very Fine-Excellent): The buckle shows a few small spots of limited wear.

GUARANTEE: As with all my artifacts, this piece is guaranteed to be original, as described.
