ARTIFACT: This is a Korean War era Penguin lighter for the United States Navy USS Saratoga (CVA-60). The front of the lighter has a nice enameled coat of arms for the ship reading INVICTUS GALLUS GLADIATOR.

VINTAGE: Circa Korean War.

SIZE: Approximately 2-1/4" height and 1-1/2" width and 1/2" thickness.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Nickel-plated brass, brass enamel.

ATTACHMENT: Hinge.

MARKINGS: HIGH QUALITY LIGHTER PENGUIN NO. 19581 JAPAN.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a lighter collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. ebay RAJL93 LAAEX1/11

CONDITION: 7+ (Very Fine+): The lighter shows some very small spots of medium wear along its edge and some abrasions on reverse.
