Description
This is an interesting World War II United States Army 342nd Engineer Regiment distinctive insignia grouping including two DIs and a card from a 1st Lieutenant (Henry B. Wheeler). The DIs show a beaver wielding a shovel and the colorful card reads FACE AUT TACE (Act or be silent) with a wonderful eagle below. The DIs are sans backings.
VINTAGE:Circa World War II.
SIZE:Card: approximately 4-7/16" in height and 6-5/16" in width; DI: about 1-5/16" by 1-3/16".
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Paper; painted metal.
ATTACHMENT:Vertical pin with come-under locking swivel catch (swivel part missing).
MARKINGS:Sticker on reverse with Wheeler's signature.
