This is a pair of United States Army infantry officer shoulder boards from the Indian Wars period. Each board has a rope-knot border design bears a number 4 against a field of bluish-green velvet. There is a small brass button on each board bearing a pared-down version of the Great Seal.
VINTAGE:Circa Indian Wars (1870s-1890s).
SIZE:6-5/8" height and 3-13/16" width for each board.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Velvet, brass, bullion rope, cotton backing.

CONDITION:7+ (Very Fine+): Each board has only light scuffing on the velvet and moderate tarnish.
