Description
This is an extremely rare 1920's - early 1930's - M1922 x000D
Imperial Japanese Navy (Probably "Landing Forces") "Cherry Blossom" Helmet. x000D
So-named for the vent hole cover on top. These helmets have always been x000D
exceedingly rare, and the Navy version even more rare. This helmet is in x000D
exceptional condition, with an overlay of camouflage sand paint, and remnants x000D
of plant matter, which may have been part of further camouflaging that the x000D
helmet once possessed. The liner is mostly intact, with one "finger" having x000D
separated, retaining all of the original pads. The chin strap is no longer x000D
present.
This helmet was located in Japan b y my wife over 25 years x000D
ago, and has been in her family possession ever since.
1920s - Early 1930s.
SIZE:The helmet measures 5-1/2" in height x 11-3/16" in width front to back x 8-15/16" in width side to side. The Cherry Blossom ventilation hole cover measures 2-3/4" in diameter. And the Navy Badge on front measures 1-1/4" in height x 7/8" in width.
