ARTIFACT: This is a HUGE (almost 9"long!) Japanese-made patch for the United States Navy's USS Gudgeon SS-567. The patch is roughly oval with a rope-style border and shows a sub shooting off three torpedos. The patch reads GUDGEON SS 567.

VINTAGE: Circa mid to late 1950's.

SIZE: 4-7/8" height and 8-3/4" width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Fully embroidered patch in multi-colored silk/cotton threads with muslin backing.

CONDITION: 8- (Very Fine&emdash;Excellent): Patch shows slight wear only on reverse.
