ARTIFACT: This is a framed circa World War II photograph of a United States Air Corps P-39 Air Cobra (or Airacobra), a fighter plane by Bell Aircraft popular with many countries' forces. The P-39 was revolutionary in that the engine was placed behind the pilot, and it was suited best for low-altitude missions. This photo was taken from the unique perspective of just under and in front of the plane's propeller.

VINTAGE: Circa World War II.

SIZE: Approximately 16-3/4" in height by 20-5/8" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Glass, photograph, painted wood, cardboard.

ATTACHMENT: Bracket, Velcro pad.

MARKINGS: None.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a United States Army Air Forces collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. MBJX93 LABJX4/12 psLAGJX05/21

CONDITION: 7 (Very Fine): The photograph has some aging and vertical creasing, mostly on its left side, and one short rusty line near the top; frame is in good shape.

GUARANTEE: As with all my artifacts, this piece is guaranteed to be original, as described.
