This is a circa 1900 Needham, Massachusetts Fire Department Ladder 1 badge. The badge was beautifully hand-made, with fine engraved detailing and an enameled City Seal at center. It has a Salman of Boston mark and there is a name scratched faintly upon reverse.
VINTAGE:Circa 1900.
SIZE:About 2" wide by 2-3/8" high.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Plated brass, enamel.
ATTACHMENT:Vertical pin with come-under locking catch.
MARKINGS:Salmon Boston; name faintly scratched on the back reads "Sid Brearley".

CONDITION:8- (Very Fine-Excellent): The badge has very minor wear only; slight tarnishing.
