This is a circa World War II United States Navy WAVES (Women Accepted for Volunteer Emergency Service) enlisted "badge". The WAVES were the first women to serve in the Army as a division of the US Navy. This was worn to proudly show the young woman's commitment to service. The badge still has its original period safety pin.
VINTAGE:Circa World War II.
SIZE:Approximately 4-1/16" square.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Printed paper card, string.
ATTACHMENT:Original period safety pin, hole, string.
MARKINGS:None.

CONDITION:8 (Excellent-): The badge has only very little wear/creasing.
