This is an early World War II United States Navy son-in-service badge in the shape of a Chief Petty Officer hat badge. It is in silver-plated and gilt brass. The badge is a large anchor bearing the letters USN and an enameled bar with a single star at center. The badge has the Amcraft snowflake pattern on reverse.
VINTAGE:Circa early World War II.
SIZE:Approximately 1-3/4" tall and 1-3/16" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Gilt and silver-plated brass, enamel.
ATTACHMENT:Vertical pin with come-under locking swivel catch.
MARKINGS:None.
