Early WWII USN Son-in-Service Badge in Form of CPO Hat Badge

This is an early World War II United States Navy son-in-service badge in the shape of a Chief Petty Officer hat badge. It is in silver-plated and gilt brass. The badge is a large anchor bearing the letters USN and an enameled bar with a single star at center. The badge has the Amcraft snowflake pattern on reverse.

Circa early World War II.

Approximately 1-3/4" tall and 1-3/16" in width.

Gilt and silver-plated brass, enamel.

Vertical pin with come-under locking swivel catch.
