Description
This is a great World War II German Aircraft company worker badge for Erla Maschinenwerk in Leipzig. It could possibly have been worn by a forced laborer at Buchwald. ERLA was one of the top three largest manufacturers in Germany at the time, and made the Messesrshchmidt BF-109 fighter aircraft for the Luftwaffe. The badge was locally made in wartime white metal. It is painted red and gear-shaped with a small oval plate at the center bearing a small "Erla" wing.
