ARTIFACT: This is a United States Marine Corps sweetheart pillowcase from World War I in silk with hand-painted details. The case is fringed in golden thread and reads DEMOCRACY'S VANGUARD across the bottom of a landing scene.

VINTAGE: Circa World War I.

SIZE: Approximately 23-1/2" in height and 23-1/2" in width (including fringe but not including foam board).

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Silk with hand-painted details; silk thread fringe.

ATTACHMENT: None.

MARKINGS: None.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a United States Marine Corps collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. CON-JMB-SPLBEX10 LBCEX7/11 RETCON3/13

CONDITION: 8 (Excellent-): The pillowcase has been well-preserved with no more than two or three very small spots of wear or discoloration.
