Description
This is a great old cast iron tobacco cutter patented in 1875: the "Champion Knife Improved". The blade is housed in a semi-circular frame and attached to a lever. There are some faded painted details still gracing the tool.
VINTAGE:Circa late 19th century.
SIZE:Approximately 6-3/4" in height and 17-1/4" in length (when closed).
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Cast iron.
ATTACHMENT:Hinging lever; holes on either end for bolting cutter down.
MARKINGS:ENTERPRISE MFG. CO. PHILADELPHIA PAT. APRIL 13, 1875 ON BASE; PATENTED July 25, 1871 on reverse of blade holder.

CONDITION:6+ (Fine-Very Fine): The cutter is in working condition but has a lot of aging and faded paint.
