Description

ARTIFACT:

This is a great circa mid-1930s salt glaze stein with an NSKOV (Nationalsozialistische Kriegsopferversorgung) inscription engraved upon the pewter lid. NSKOV was largely an organization for WWI front line Nazi and wounded veterans. This handsome stein was a souvenir of the National Socialist War Victim's Care, Cell #The stein is in an earthy brown hue with many decorative scrolls and the hinge is topped with an acorn, the ever-present Germanic symbol.

VINTAGE:

Circa mid-1930s.

SIZE:

Approximately 6-3/8" in height and 3-7/8" in diameter across main body.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Ceramic, pewter lid.

ATTACHMENT:

Hinged lid.

MARKINGS:

Zum Andenken NSKOV der Zelle 4 on lid; AC WW 3209 50 on bottom.
