This is a great World War I US Aviator leather flight cap made by Armstrong Uniform Co. of Chicago. The helmet is named behind the left ear to "Lt. D. I. Perry," or Lt. Donald Irving Perry. He was from Newbury, MA and earned his wings in 4/18, became an officer in 9/18, and served as a flight instructor.
VINTAGE:Circa WWI.
SIZE:Size 10-1/2" x 11.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Leather and polished cotton.

CONDITION:6- (Fine): There are a couple small areas of dryness. Some of the stitching is letting go. The goggle strap retention tab is missing.
