This is a Great Early World War II United States Army Air Forces China Air Task Force (CATF) Bullion CBI Made Shoulder Patch. Removed from Uniform.
The patch depicts a winged tiger beneath a bullion star with a red center and the high-relief, detailed embroidery makes the tiger appear almost 3-dimensional.
The CATF replaced the 1st American Volunteer Group (aka "The Flying Tigers") and was the precursor to the 14th Air Force.
VINTAGE:
Circa WWII.
SIZE:Approximately 2-7/8" in width x 2-3/4" in height.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Embroidered silk, silk/cotton thread, cotton backing
ATTACHMENT:To be sewn onto garment.

CONDITION:7+ (Very Fine+): The patch shows moderate wear, light soiling, was removed from uniform, overall very fine condition.
