ARTIFACT: This is a Great Early World War II United States Army Air Forces China Air Task Force (CATF) Bullion CBI Made Shoulder Patch. Removed from Uniform.

The patch depicts a winged tiger beneath a bullion star with a red center and the high-relief, detailed embroidery makes the tiger appear almost 3-dimensional. 
The CATF replaced the 1st American Volunteer Group (aka "The Flying Tigers") and was the precursor to the 14th Air Force.

VINTAGE: Circa WWII.

SIZE: Approximately 2-7/8" in width x 2-3/4" in height.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Embroidered silk, silk/cotton thread, cotton backing

ATTACHMENT: To be sewn onto garment.

MARKINGS: N/A

ITEM NOTES:  This is from a USAAF collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. VAJJM20 LEGEX11/24/20

CONDITION: 7+ (Very Fine+): The patch shows moderate wear, light soiling, was removed from uniform, overall very fine condition.
