ARTIFACT: This is a great circa 1943 Women's Auxiliary Army Corps (WAAC) Enrollee celluloid badge. The Women's Army Auxiliary Corps was the precursor of the Women's Army Corps. This large yellow and black badge shows a golden bust of Pallas Athena, the Roman goddess of war, at its center.

VINTAGE: Circa 1943 (World War II).

SIZE: Approximately 1-3/4" in diameter.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Celluloid-wrapped tin.

ATTACHMENT: Horizontal safety-style pin.

MARKINGS: None.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a United States Army collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. MAEV13 LHEX5/13 SGEX9/14

CONDITION: 8- (Very Fine-Excellent): The badge has some areas of light wear on the reverse only; front is in excellent condition.
