Great Ca. 1948 - 1949 Doepke Model Toys Adams Motor Grader

Great circa 1948 -1949 Doepke Model Toys Adams Motor Grader. This huge metal toy is Doepke's most known model of their line of construction toys, all designed with uncanny realism. A family owned business, their toys commanded a high price, around $12.00 new, but were advertised to last three times longer than other toys. This example is a fusion of the 1948 and 1949 models, the appearance of the "No 512" on the cabin door and the overall "brilliant orange" color of the grader are aspects of the 1948 model. The 1949 model saw changes to the blade assembly construction and the number of adjustable blade positions changed from five to three; both of these updates are seen on this example and the blade circle plate still shows the round hole where the 1948 rivet would have held the blade assembly together. The model features 'Sure Grip' Good Year Tires (hard rubber), the front of the grader reads: "MANUFACTURED BY ADAMS" and the side decal reads: "THE CHARLES WM. DOEPKE MFG. CO. INC. ROSSMOYNE, O - MODEL TOYS PATENT PENDING" and the side of the cabin door reads: "ADAMS MOTOR GRADER No 512 DIESEL".

8+ (Excellent): Grader shows minor to moderate wear, nearly all the decal and painted details remain fully intact. All wheels and moving parts are all in functioning condition.
