ARTIFACT:

This is a Great Circa 1900 Pinkerton's US Detective Agency 6-Point Star Badge. Originally Worn by Early Venice, California Lawman Walter Mills.

This badge was not issued by the Famous agency founded by Allan Pinkerton; the Pinkerton National Detective Agency, but by a copy-cat agency that played off the famous name, which was eventually sued by Pinkerton National Detective Agency and forced to Cease & Desist.

VINTAGE:

Circa 1900.

SIZE:

Approximately 1-7/8" in height x 1-5/8" in width.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Nickel-plated brass with black painted lettering

ATTACHMENT:

Vertical safety-style pin.
