ARTIFACT:
This is a great 1950's pewter-top glass stein advertising The Student Prince in Springfield, Massachusetts. It was made in Germany by Franz Herb. It has very nice circular indentations in the glass, providing and interesting texture. The Student Prince started out as a small bar in Springfield in 1935 and grew steadily; adding a dining room about 11 years of business. The restaurant's popularity grew, as well as its prized stein collection, which became one of the largest collections in the United States!
