Description

ARTIFACT:

This is a circa 1930s-1940s special officer (security) badge for Madison Square Garden in New York City. This badge dates to the third incarnation of the Garden, which existed from 1925 until 1968, when it was rebuilt. It was the first Garden to be built outside of Madison Square itself, and was erected instead within Hell's Kitchen. The badge is numbered 303.

VINTAGE:

Circa 1930s-1940s.

SIZE:

Approximately 2-1/2" in height and 1-13/16" in width.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Chrome-plated brass with painted areas.

ATTACHMENT:

Two brackets with small holes.

MARKINGS:

None.
