Great 1919 Partola Mint Candy Laxative Tin. "The Doctor in Candy Form". The cream colored painted tin reads: "DELICIOUS – EFFECTIVE – GOOD FOR ALL – AN AID TO GOOD HEALTH – PARTOLA – THE DOCTOR IN CANDY FORM – THE IDEAL MINT CANDY LAXATIVE $1.00" "Partola causes no pain or griping an ideal purifier No. 9291 The Proprietary or Patent Medicine Act of Canada". "Directions eat 2 candies at bedtime. People confined to bed should eat 3, infants 1/3 to ½ candy crushed in milk, children ½ to 1 candy this superior laxative and ideal purifying candy is most pleasant and effective for young and old", "THIS BOX CONTAINS 80 TABLETS". One side shows a figure, a candy man, with a disc for a torso that reads: "PARTOLA" and beneath him, "THE DOCTOR IN CANDY FORM"
