ARTIFACT:
Wonderful, framed WWII grouping of a 549th BS, 385th BG, 8th Air Force Navigator with Amcraft wings and original squadron patch. Framed by Wellhausen's in Texas, the grouping shows three photographs, cadet (#'d 33549), graduation (signed "Rhodes '44"), and seasoned veteran (#'d 41368). Ribbon bar with DFC, Air Medal, and ETO multiple battles/awards. Also included in the grouping are a WWII USAAF HQ patch, 8th AF patch, gilt brass hat badge, collar insignia, and a small blue and gold pennant reading: "U.S. ARMY AIR CORPS". Can sell for less if shipped without period frame.

Sterling, gilt brass, ribbon, painted canvas, embroidered cotton/polyester/silk thread, photo paper, silk screened felt, celluloid.

Unknown if wings (navigator or photographer) are clutchback or pin and if badges are fully intact.

CONDITION:
8- (Overall – Very Fine—Excellent): Frame shows some age/storage wear, tiny splatter of white paint on the top frame edge (see photo). Wing shows overall tarnish, gilt badges show minor wear, much of the gilt remains intact. 8th AF & HQ patches show light wear and were removed from uniform. Pennant is in great condition, nearly all the silk screen details remain fully intact, and the photos do not show rips or discoloration.
