ARTIFACT: This is a fabulous circa 1914 promotional paperweight for Motorenfabrik Oberursel AG, a German aircraft automobile and locomotive engine producer. Named Motorenfabrik Oberursel in 1893, the company had been organized under a different name two years earlier by Willy Sec. The paperweight is handsomely wrought in bronze with partial silver plating upon a rectangular marble base. The design is the 14 cylinder rotary type double-lambda 160 hp V.III motor as used on the Fokker E. IV & D. III aircraft.

VINTAGE: Circa 1914.

SIZE: Approximately 3-9/16" by 5-7/16" by 3/4".

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Marble, bronze, partial silver plating.

ATTACHMENT: None.
