Extremely Rare WWII USAAF I Air Support Command DI by Amcraft

This is an extremely rare World War II United States Army Air Forces I Air Support Command distinctive insignia. The Support Command handled many training and support tasks, and participated in anti-submarine missions in American waters. The DI is by Amcraft and has the company's snowflake pattern on reverse. It is octagonal, with the Egyptian deity Horus at center, and is done in black enameled sterling silver. The DI originally had a light gold wash which has mostly been polished off of the front.

Circa World War II.

Approximately 1-1/8" in height and 1-1/8" in width.

Sterling silver, enamel.

Horizontal pin with come-under locking swivel catch.

Amcraft snowflake pattern on reverse.
