ARTIFACT: This is an extremely rare patch for the United States Navy Catapult Unit V-1. The patch is the design that was worn aboard the USS Leyte in 1949-1950 and shows a winged dog's head with an anchor.

VINTAGE: Circa 1949-1950.

SIZE: Approximately 5-1/16" in diameter.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Wool felt embroidered in silk/cotton/polyester threads with muslin backing.

ATTACHMENT: N/A.

CONDITION: 8+ (Excellent): The patch shows only very light wear but unfortunately was mis-cut by the manufacturer and repaired (re-edged).
