This is an Extremely Early 1942 CAA Civil Aeronautics Authority War Training Service Gold Washed Silver Type I Wright Flyer Instructor Wing.
Early 1942, World War II.
SIZE:Approximately 11/16" in height x 3-1/32" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Gold Washed Silver.
ATTACHMENT:Horizontal pin with come-under locking catch.
MARKINGS:This is from a CAA collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. MAJJJK23 LBIIEX07/31/23 SBHGJX08/01/23
CONDITION:10- (Near Mint): This wing is in near perfect condition. It appears to have been dipped in silver cleaner by a previous owner, so I cannot be 100% certain, but I think I see some extremely light wear on the highest points of the wing. So I am erring to the side of caution calling this Near Mint instead of flat Mint.
GUARANTEE:As with all my artifacts, this piece is guaranteed to be original, as described.
