ARTIFACT:
This is an extremely Rare early war Civil Aeronautics Administration (CAA) War Training Service Instructor Wing in Near Mint condition.
This is the Wright Flyer Type III Wing in Silver worn for a VERY short while in the early WWII period, ca 2nd half 1942, which was quickly replaced with the much more common Indian Head design that was used the rest of the WWII period. This shares the ever-so-slightly shorter wingspan with the Indian Head wing, unlike its slightly longer predecessors.
This wing is extremely hard to find.

Circa Early WWII, 2nd half 1942.
SIZE:
Approximately 11/16" in height x 2-31/32" in length.
MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION:
Lacquered Sterling Silver.
ATTACHMENT:
Horizontal pin with come-under locking catch.

CONDITION:
9 (Excellent - Near Mint): Much of the lacquer is intact and there is light wear on front and moderate patination, 95% lacquer and light tarnish on back.
