Description
Extremely rare 1923 14K United States Naval Academy Class Pin of Midshipman Carl K. Zimmerman by Bailey, Banks, & Biddle. He was an early submariner and is listed in 1927 at the New London substation (1927 Zimmerman, Carl K, It (jg), instruction, Submarine Base, New London, Conn) and in 1929 as being on board the SS-40 (1929, Zimmerman, Carl K, It (jg), USS S-40 (Later SS-145). Zimmerman's class pin came along with his minty 1920's Meyer Submarine Dolphin badge (see link below). The intricately detailed pin depicts a ship's wheel with "1923" in the center and: "U. S. N. A." below. The top of the pin shows an eagle perched on an anchor with crossed swords behind and the reverse features Zimmerman's initials: "CKZ". Images include Zimmerman's 1923 USNA Class Photo
