This is a Extremely Rare, Possibly Unique 1880's Chinese Consulate Transit Inspector Badge by J. C. Irvine. San Francisco Based, and Most likely related to Railroad Transportation and Employment of Chinese Nationals in the 1880's.

VINTAGE:

Circa 1880's.

SIZE:

Approximately 2-3/16" length and 1-13/16" width.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Nickel-plated nickel.

ATTACHMENT:

Vertical kick pin with a catch.
