ARTIFACT: This is an Extremely Rare circa 1900 South African Republic Police Officer Helmet Plate Boer War.

The Boer War, also known as the South African War, was a conflict between the British Empire and the two Boer republics (the South African Republic and the Orange Free State) in South Africa, fought from 1899 to 1902. It stemmed from British imperial ambitions and disputes over land, resources, and the rights of foreigners in the Boer republics. The British ultimately won, leading to the annexation of the Boer republics and their incorporation into the British Empire. 

VINTAGE: Circa 1900.

SIZE: Approximately: 3-3/8" in height x 2-1/2" at its widest point. 

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS: Stamped Nickel with Copper Lugs.

ATTACHMENT: Two Lugs.
