This is an Extremely Rare 1880's - 1890's New York City Workhouse Orderly Badge #42 by S.A. French. From the Blackwell's Island Work House. Not Maker Marked, But most likely made by Old New York Maker: S.A. French.

1880's - 1890's.

Approximately 2-3/16" in height x 1-5/8" in width.

Heavy Nickel-Plated Nickel with Jewelers Black.

Vertical kick pin with Tube type catch.
