This is a circa 1880s fire department badge from Troy, New York. It reads RANKEN 102 and shows an interlocking logo at center made from the letters TFD.
VINTAGE:Circa 1880s.
SIZE:2-1/2" height and 1-15/16" width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Nickel-plated brass and brass details.
ATTACHMENT:Vertical kick pin with "C" catch.

CONDITION:7 (Very Fine): Badge has areas of moderate tarnish and some light wear around the edge only; pin is intact but catches loosely.
