ARTIFACT:
This is an early (circa 1912) American National Red Cross nurse pin in gilt bronze by Bailey, Banks and Biddle of Philadelphia. This pin belonged to Mrs. Charlotte C. Hotchkiss (ne Cornwall) of Milford, Connecticut. Charlotte served with the Red Cross in France during World War I. The pin is numbered on reverse. We are also selling a nurse graduation badge that also belonged to Charlotte separately (please see link at bottom of page for more information).
VINTAGE:
Circa 1912.
SIZE:
Approximately 1" in diameter.
MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION:
Gilt bronze, enamel.
ATTACHMENT:
Vertical pin with drop-in locking swivel catch (period repair to locking catch).
MARKINGS:
19238 BB&B PHILA. BRONZE.

CONDITION:
8- (Very Fine-Excellent): The pin shows little wear and some light tarnish on the reverse. There is a period repair to the locking catch.
