ARTIFACT:
This is an early World War II United States Army Air Force 94th Fighter Squadron DI (Distinctive Insignia) (actually more of a Squadron Badge) as presented by World War I ACE fighter Eddie Rickenbacker. The pin has an oval frame and at center is an Uncle Sam-type top hat.
VINTAGE:
Circa World War II.
SIZE:
About 1-1/16" in width and 1/2" in height.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:
Sterling silver.
ATTACHMENT:
Vertical pin with a drop-in locking swivel catch.
MARKINGS:
STERLING.
ITEM NOTES:
