This is an early World War II United States Army Air Force 94th Fighter Squadron DI (Distinctive Insignia) (actually more of a Squadron Badge) as presented by World War I ACE fighter Eddie Rickenbacker. The pin has an oval frame and at center is an Uncle Sam-type top hat.
VINTAGE:Circa World War II.
SIZE:About 1/2" in width and 1-1/16" in height.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Sterling silver.
ATTACHMENT:Vertical pin with a drop-in locking swivel catch.
MARKINGS:STERLING.
ITEM NOTES:This is from a large collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. (RABEJV06)
CONDITION:7+ (Very Fine+): Very minor wear and tarnishing.
