The South Portland Shipbuilding Corporation, also known as the "West Yard", started in 1941, following the Todd-Bath Iron ("East") Yard formed a year earlier. Both yards steamed along until 1943, when they merged into the New England Shipbuilding Corporation. The badge is by Whitehead & Hoag.
