ARTIFACT: This great old celluloid badge is for an Air Raid Precautions Warden or Air Raid Warden working for the NE Tel. & Tel. Co. It is quite large and reads around the outer edge: NEW ENGLAND TELEPHONE AND TELEGRAPH COMPANY. Inside this is a large white area with the blue bell logo of the BELL SYSTEM with the letters ARP around it and the word WARDEN below with the number 366 below that. Written in old pen & ink on the back is the original owner's name: A. Peckleau.

VINTAGE: Ca. 1942.

SIZE: Approx. 2-1/2" in diameter.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Celluloid plastic, cardboard, tin, and brass.

ATTACHMENT: Horizontal safety-type pin.

MARKINGS: WHITEHEAD-HOAG, NEWARK, NJ.

ITEM NOTES: This rare badge would be a great addition to anyone collecting telephone or telegraph company memorabilia or WWII home front memorabilia. LAEJX SAEJX8/12
