Early WWII Nazi Russian Front Medal in Heavy Silver-Plated White Metal

This is a circa early World War II Nazi Russian Front medal. The medal is in heavy silver-plated white metal and has an undecipherable mark on the suspension ring. The design is of an eagle grasping a swastika with a stahlhelm (steel helmet) above. On reverse the medal reads WINTERSCHLACHT IM OSTEN (Winter Battle in the East) 1941/42.

Circa early World War II.

Approximately 3-1/2" in height and 1-3/8" in width.

Silver-plated white metal, silk.

Suspension loop.

Undecipherable mark on ring.
