ARTIFACT: Early WWII Fixed Bale Helmet marked 53B under the brim, painted olive drab with heavy canvas straps. An iconic helmet seeing service with the US military from the early 1940s up until its replacement by the composite helmet in the mid 1980's.

VINTAGE: Circa early WWII

SIZE: Approximately 28" inside circumference; 9 ½" ear to ear; 11 ¼" back to front; 6 ½" tall

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Painted steel, heavy canvas straps, steel buckles

ATTACHMENT: Fixed bale chinstraps.

MARKINGS: "53B" under brim

ITEM NOTES: This is from a WWII helmet collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. VGEX13 LBDEX2/15 SLBHEX4/15 UTL4/16

CONDITION: 7+ (Very Fine+): The helmet shows minor to moderate wear, one chinstrap is partially separated, and nearly all the painted details remain intact.
