Description
This is an early Occupation Period war art box brought back as a souvenir by an American soldier. The box is nicely done in wood with red, white, blue and gold sand arranged in four of the Allied flag designs on the lid (US, Britain, France and USSR). It reads AUSTRIA along the front lower section and has a nice bracket inside the lid with a cut-out star.
VINTAGE:Circa mid 1940s.
SIZE:2-7/8" height and 9-5/8" width and 6" depth.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Wood, colored sand, brass hardware.
ATTACHMENT:Two hinges.

CONDITION:7 (Very Fine): Piece has a great design and is nice shape except for some spots of slight gapping in the gold sand around the edge of the cover.
