Description
This is an early, numbered Spanish-American War veteran's medal in its matching numbered box. The medal is a wreathed eagle and crest at the top of a United States flag ribbon, with each armed force's insignia above a cross-shaped medal reading: CUBA PORTO RICO U.S.A. PHILIPPINE ISLANDS SPANISH WAR VETERANS 1898-190The reverse of the medal is numbered and reads UNITED along with labeled compass points.
VINTAGE:Circa early 1900s.
SIZE:4-5/16" in height and 1-3/4" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Bronze with silk ribbon, cardboard box.
ATTACHMENT:Horizontal pin with "C" catch.
MARKINGS:3673 on medal and box.
