Description
This is an early Mexican Service solid silver ribbon bar enameled in yellow, blue and green. The award itself was instituted in 1917 but was awarded to any soldier who participated in campaigns against Mexican forces from 1911 to 1919, or anyone wounded or killed between 1911-191Both the Army and Navy (and Marine Corps) had their own version of the medal that accompanied this particular bar.
VINTAGE:Circa 1917.
SIZE:Approximately 5/16" height and 1-3/8" width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Solid silver and enamel.
ATTACHMENT:Horizontal pin with drop-in locking swivel catch.
MARKINGS:J.F.J. CO. N.Y. SOLID SILVER.
