This is an early Citizens' Military Training Corps signals belt buckle. The National Defense Act of 1920 created the CMTC so that male citizens could receive military training without signing up for the service. The CMTC held classes (camps) each summer from 1921 through 1940. The buckle is rectangular, shows two crossed flags and a torch at center and reads C.M.T.C.
VINTAGE:Circa 1920s-1930s.
SIZE:About 1-3/4" length and 2-7/8" width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Brass.
ATTACHMENT:Rectangular loop and belt buckle attachment.
