Early 1970s Market Square Pub (Portsmouth, New Hampshire) Painted Sign w/Pineapple

This is a circa early 1970s sign for the Market Square Pub in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. The sign is painted masonite in a wooden frame, and shows a painted pineapple, the international symbol of welcome. The sign drew in patrons at about the time when Portsmouth was on the threshold of entering its renaissance stage.
